  What is a professional development plan? A professional development plan is a plan that documents the goals, required skills, and competency development. A plan that has a number of objectives for the management and staff to accomplish in order to support constant improvement and career development. Professional development is created by the manager working hand-in-hand with the staff member to know the needs and the required skills together with the resources to support the staff member's employment goals and the association's business requirements.
